Connect a computer to the Gateway using a wireless connection
Please note: To complete these steps, you'll need a computer with built-in wireless capabilities or with an installed wireless network adapter. Refer to your computer’s user manual or wireless adapter manufacturer’s guide for further information.
Follow these steps for each computer you want to wirelessly connect to the Gateway.
For Windows XP
- Click Start, then Settings, then Control Panel and double-click Network Connections.
- Right-click the Wireless Network Connection icon and select View Available Wireless Networks. A list of one or more wireless network names/SSIDs should appear in the available networks window.
- Select the network name/SSID that you created in Step 22 from the available networks list and click Connect.
- When the Network Key authentication box appears, enter the WPA Passphrase you’ve already created.
- Re-enter the WPA Passphrase to confirm.
- Click Connect.
- When complete, insert the Rogers Hi-Speed Internet CD found with your User Guide to install the Rogers Hi-Speed Internet software onto this computer.
For Windows Vista
- Click Start, then Network, then click Network and Sharing Center on the top menu bar.
- On the left-pane, click Connect to a Network. A list of one or more networks will appear in the right-pane.
- Select the network name/SSID that you’ve already created from the available networks list and click Connect.
- When the Network Key authentication box appears, enter the WPA Passphrase you’ve already created.
- Re-enter the WPA Passphrase to confirm.
- Click Connect.
- When complete, insert the Rogers Hi-Speed Internet CD found with your User Guide to install the Rogers Hi-Speed Internet software onto this computer.
You’re finished! Now you can use your @rogers.com email and download online protection.
How to get your @rogers.com* email
- Visit http://rogers.yahoo.com and sign in using the email address and password that you’ve just created.
- Click the Mail icon near the top right of the Rogers Yahoo! home page.
*@nl.rogers.com for Newfoundland customers.
Finally, protect your computer with the Rogers Onine Protection software
Download and install Rogers Online Protection
- Visit http://rogers.yahoo.com and sign in using the email address and password that you’ve just created.
- Click the Security icon near the top right of the Rogers Yahoo! home page.
- Click Download Now and follow the onscreen steps.
